Located just steps from the beach, ferry landing, shops, restaurants, and the iconic Casino Point Dive Park, this spacious island home is the perfect base camp for divers looking to experience Catalina like never before.
The Big Blue House comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests with 4 bedrooms, 8 beds, a full kitchen, cozy gathering spaces, outdoor patio with BBQ, washer and dryer, and all the charm you need for a laid-back dive weekend with your scuba family. Whether you’re gearing up for a full day underwater or relaxing after a night dive, this centrally located island house keeps the adventure close and the good times rolling.
The amount of diving you do is totally up to you. Avalon is an incredible place to explore, giving you the opportunity to check out places and activities you may not have had the chance to experience before. Spend your days diving the world-famous Casino Point Dive Park, wandering through town, relaxing by the waterfront, grabbing a drink with friends, or simply enjoying island life — all while having the comfort of a place to stay, relax, and store your gear while you’re out and about.
Catch the Catalina Express to the island on Friday and settle into island time for the weekend. Official check-in begins at 3:00 PM, but we will have the ability to drop luggage off before check-in if arriving earlier. Check out is Sunday at 10:00 AM, if wishing to stay on the island for the afternoon arrangements can be made for luggage storage. Return to the mainland Sunday after an amazing weekend of diving, food, and fun.
Planned Dives at Casino Point Dive Park:
We will have a dedicated spot for our group over at the dive park, so all you have to do is walk over with your gear and join in on the fun. The plan is to be at the dive park by 8:00 AM Saturday morning and dive throughout the day until around 1:00 PM, before returning later that evening for a night dive.
Dive as much or as little as you’d like throughout the weekend. Guides are available for divers who wish to have a guided tour around the park for an additional cost.
If planning to participate in the night dive, divers are required to have:
- Primary dive light
- Backup dive light
- Tank marker light
Rental gear can easily be reserved through Catalina Divers Supply ahead of time, and advance reservations are highly recommended if you are wanting a specific tank size. We highly recommend renting tanks and weights on the island while bringing the remainder of your personal equipment for convenience.

- Saturday lunch will consist of either deli sandwiches or Antonio’s pizza (group decision)

We are also just steps away from many of Avalon’s favorite restaurants and bars including The Lobster Trap, Luau Larry’s, Pete’s Cafe, and many more if you’d like to explore the local dining and nightlife scene. There is also a Vons located on the island for any groceries, snacks, beverages, or last-minute essentials you may need during the weekend.

A nonrefundable deposit of $275 is due upon booking to secure your spot. Remaining balance is due in full by August 22, 2026.
